Keeping costs low is one way to help maximise your company’s profits. There are many ways that you can do this, but here are some simple methods that you can do from the comfort of your computer.

Outsourcing

Instead of hiring an individual full time to perform a job, you could instead hire freelancers on a gig basis. The process of hiring a freelancer is far easier and less stressful than hiring a proper employee. It is also a lot cheaper because you only need to pay them for each specific job. There are a range of websites, like Freelancer and Fiverr, where you can find the right freelance worker for your particular task. They vary in quality and price, so be sure to have a contract in place to ensure all parties are happy.

Outsourcing is also a great option if was going to be a task that you need to do yourself. For example, outsourcing the management of your social media or blog writing means that you have more time for more important duties. Additionally, you are also hiring professionals in their field, and then you will quickly see the benefits of their services.

Using the right technology

You might decide to save some money getting free technology rather than paid versions, e.g. OpenOffice instead of Microsoft Office. They both work mostly the same way and unless you desperately need the additional features that Microsoft offer then you could easily get away with using a free alternative. However, it can sometimes be worth the saving in time to use a specialized piece of software. For example, if your company produces a lot of proposals then utilizing a company such as Bidrik with their dedicated software can save you both time and money. If a piece of software allows you to save time each day, then it is also saving you money. Another example could be if you create high-quality graphic designs, then paying for Photoshop is going to help you be a leading company in your field.

Go Digital

Invest in a tablet and scrap the printer. If you don’t need to print something, then don’t. Your company likely spends a lot of money for cartridges, paper and printer maintenance. If you can be paperless, then you won’t have to worry about these expenses. If you need a document on the go, then having a tablet as well as a work computer can make working on the go a lot easier. Instead of printing off example documents, send them as an email and allow other people to choose whether to print. If you do need to print something off, then try to double side the page and do it infrequently.

Additionally, if you are sending marketing through the post consider sending emails instead. Postal marketing is on the decline, and digital marketing continues to grow. If you stop paying for physical marketing in the way and instead focus on free digital marketing such as social media like Twitter, then you could save your company a lot of money.
